Hi, my name is Laura, owner of Webbed Ink SMP. In 2023, after working within Design for the majority of my career, I decided to re-train and embark on a totally different role as a Scalp Micropigmentation artist. For years I witnessed my own husband’s male pattern hair loss from a young age and how it affected his daily life and his confidence. Scalp Micropigmentation treatment allowed him to feel himself again, along with taking years off his appearance with his new hairline. His main feedback after having the treatment was “I just wish that I had done it sooner”.

Male and Female Hair Density
SMP density treatment allows us to work through your existing hair and around your natural follicles, creating the appearance of a fuller, thicker head of hair. This treatment works extremely well for both women and men with excellent results on partings, temples and the crown area. This treatment will not affect any current or future hair growth.
Post Hair Transplant Enhancement
SMP is able to achieve the illusion of increased density throughout transplanted areas. This non-invasive technique can achieve an improved look for clients who feel that their hair transplant hasn’t given them enough coverage. Please note that transplant areas need to be healed for at least 6-12 months prior to any SMP treatment so that the area is fully healed.
Hair Transplant Scar Camouflage
A well executed treatment of SMP is able to camouflage FUE donor and FUT strip scar areas by replicating the missing follicles and blending the scar in with the surrounding scalp area. This is a highly effective solution for clients who feel self-conscious about donor areas after having a transplant. Please note that scars need to be healed for at least 6-12 months prior to any SMP treatment so that the donor area is fully healed.
Male Pattern Baldness

What is Scalp Micropigmentation?
Scalp Micropigmentation, also known as SMP is a permanent hair loss solution for all types of hair loss or hair thinning in both men and women. SMP is 100% effective and safe with immediate, natural looking results that are visible immediately after each session.
The process is achieved by using a micro-needle (75% smaller than a tattoo needle) and specialised ink pigment to create impressions into the scalp creating density or a full head clean shaven look. Normally 2-4 sessions would be required to gain the most effective results. This can vary between clients and can be advised upon consultation.
How long does SMP last?
Once you have completed your full initial treatment, healed SMP can last for years before potentially requiring a top-up depending on how aftercare is adhered to along with other factors.
Not everyone will need a touch-up at the same time. As SMP ages, factors such as skin type, lifestyle and sun exposure can all affect how pigment can change. Some clients may choose to have a refresh when they feel that their SMP has softened or no longer appears as defined, where as others may prefer the softened look so may choose to wait much longer before having a touch up session.
What pre-care is required?
If you are wanting to go for the shaved look there are a few pre-care instructions to follow. Firstly we would advise that you shave your head and keep it moisturised for a least the week before the treatment. On the day of your treatment it is then advised to wash your head to remove any products that may be present.
If you’re having density treatment added to existing hair it is advised to wash your hair on the day of the treatment to allow for accurate colour matching of the pigment.
Avoid exposing your scalp to the sun or using a sunbed for at least 3 days before any treatment. It is advisable not to drink alcohol or to take blood-thinning medication such as Aspirin for at least 24hrs before your treatment. Also, don’t drink any high-stimulant drinks on the day before your treatment.
What aftercare is required?
Full aftercare is provided to clients after each session to ensure that the scalp heals correctly. Following the correct aftercare is essential in order to achieve the best results.
How much does SMP cost?
Prices are normally tailored to the individual, based on the type of treatment area and the number of sessions expected to be required. Full treatment at Webbed Ink SMP typically ranges from £750 to £1600 with touch up sessions starting from £300.
